This Lottery ticket wasn't too lucky.

Tweet Well, after last nights, Rodent Attack, I thought, "Surely, the news can't get any more bizarre? It can't possibly show such a low level of human intelligence" Then, Bam. That's exactly what it did. This story shows the extent of our intelligence, which I shall investigate further in my last paragraph. So, what was this headline? What could possibly be that stupid? Well...

"Toryglen robber caught by filling in Lottery ticket"

I know what you're thinking. What robber would file a lottery ticket? Why would he do that? Well, in fact it was at the same time. John Fulton, aged 53, wanted a lottery ticket, so as casually as you can whilst wearing a ski mask, he put his grubby fingers all around this lottery ticket, and he knew he had a criminal record. So they had his fingerprints. As he walked to the stand, he pulled down the ski mask, and then threatened the cashier with a gun. Or a water pistol. And the cashier bravely said, to her credit, "Are you stupid? You are on camera." So, what did the un-masked Johnny do? He looked into the camera and then pulled up his mask. Then as another customer walked in, he fled.

Isn't that a description of the worst attempted robbery in history? He didn't wear gloves, maybe he got to hot? So he then pulled down his ski-mask, and instead of continuing with the heist he looked at the camera, and then fled?! So, what was the aftermath? Like every criminal ever, he pleaded insanity on the grounds "He couldn't remember it"... Really? You didn't remember? Wow, that's new. And then he said something to confirm the heist as the worst one on record. "It wasn't real", yeah that's surely going to help you. Because last time I shouted bomb in the airport, I was arrested and because I said it was a joke, I was freed and we all had a good laugh about it later. No. Simply not. You're 53; surely you would know that our legal system is not as bad as that, I mean give them some credit...


Anyway, time to link it. How does it show our intelligence? How does it show that stereotypes are clearly wrong? Well, Let's go into the typical stereotype of us teenagers, we drink, we abuse, we vandalise, we all have ASBO's and we will all fail. They always told us that 'older is wiser' but in this case it clearly isn't. We have put up with our intelligence being insulted for far too long, having to be looked at weird, because you have a hood up. Even though it's raining. No. For once, the adult did the stupid thing, a very stupid thing.
And what else? This shows us that the World is becoming far stupider then we think. If someone was to do a robbery for money... Why would they force the cashier for a lottery ticket? Weird. But that's today. This is the World we now live in. I hope that many of you are luckier when buying a lottery ticket.
